Student of the Month: Meet Jackson
We love our students! They inspire us, they challenge us, they make us laugh and smile. But most importantly, they are each wonderful, unique individuals getting ready to go out into the world and make amazing things happen! That’s why we are highlighting one of our amazing students every month.
Meet this month's featured student: Jackson!
Jackson is a 10th grader who has already been playing piano for 7 years. A confident player, he always dazzles audiences at our recitals with high-energy performances!
What do you enjoy most about playing music?
I just like how music sounds. It relaxes me and is fun to do.
Do you have a favorite musical memory?
My grandma had a Yamaha piano that I would always play around with when I went to her house in Florida. She used to sit with me and teach me how to play some songs. When my grandma passed away, she gave me the piano.
What is your favorite song to play?
I have to say, the Pachelbel's Canon. The first time I heard it, I wanted to play it, I loved the way it sounded. It told a story.
What is a song you would like to learn to play?
I want to learn some pieces outside classical music. Like jazz or blues. Nothing in particular.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I think I'd like to be a graphic designer but I'll never give up piano.
