Student of the Month: Ezequiel

We love our students! They inspire us, they challenge us, they make us laugh and smile. But most importantly, they are each wonderful, unique individuals getting ready to go out into the world and make amazing things happen! That’s why we are highlighting one of our amazing students every month.

Meet this month’s featured student: Ezequiel!

Ezequiel began lessons at The Harmony Garden in the summer of 2018. Coming from a very musical family, Ezequiel had already taught himself quite a bit and, with his brother, was sharing his musical talents with his church community before beginning formal lessons. His love for jazz is infectious, and he is well known at the studio for learning jazz standards by ear - and putting his own unique spin on them - within one week!

It has been a delight to watch Ezequiel discover new ways to express himself through his music, and we cannot wait to see what his future holds!

What do you enjoy most about playing music?

The feel and vibe.

Do you have a favorite musical memory?

When I was little I used to bounce and bang on the keys.

What is your favorite song to play?

"Got a Match" by Chick Corea.

What is a song you would like to learn to play?

"Giant Steps" by John Coltrane.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

A piano player and a gym teacher.
