A Summer of Composing

Every month, our students look forward to learning about a new Composer of the Month. They love collecting trading cards as they listen to performances of their most iconic pieces. And we love that they’re learning about music history, different genres, music from a variety of cultures, and learn about careers in music and the arts.

And every summer, we like to focus on composing! Students learn about various composing techniques, exercise their music theory, and let their creative juices flow to create unique and beloved compositions.

So this summer, our students get to be Composer of the Month! At the end of August, each student will receive their very own trading card with their name, their photo, titles of pieces they have composed, and a quick autobiographical snippet.

We can’t wait to see what they all create and how they express themselves through their music this year!
