Student of the Month: Andres

We love our students! They inspire us, they challenge us, they make us laugh and smile. But most importantly, they are each wonderful, unique individuals getting ready to go out into the world and make amazing things happen! That’s why we are highlighting one of our amazing students every month.

Meet this month’s featured student: Andres!

Andres began lessons with Miguel in May of 2019. He is a hard worker with a great ear and intuition for the instrument. It's no surprise that he has excelled over the past year and we cannot wait to see where all of his dedication takes him!

In December, Andres won our raffle to benefit The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie - and the prize was this acoustic guitar!

Andres was over the moon to win this Fender guitar we raffled off over the holidays to benefit The Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie!

What do you enjoy most about playing music?

I like to learn new songs with different styles like rock, country and recently the blues.

Do you have a favorite musical memory?

Learning my first guitar song.  I liked the way it sounded.

What is your favorite song to play?

Dog Gone Blues.

What is a song you would like to learn to play?

Asturias, Leyenda by Isaac Albeniz.  My mom is from Spain and this is the first song I heard Andres Segovia play on the guitar.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

Invisibility.

What animal would you be, if you were not a human?

An eagle.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

A professional soccer player.
