Lisa’s interest for music started around the age of 4. Her grandfather, one of the most influential people in her life, began teaching her piano. He was a phenomenal musician, specializing as a professional accordionist, but was fluent in piano and double bass as well. Though he passed away while Lisa was in high school, she upheld her promise to never give up music.
Lisa’s musical career kicked off early. Being classically trained, she was able to begin assisting her school music department with accompaniment needs. While in college, being mentored by the Chair of the Music Department, she found a passion for pit orchestration and musical direction which sparked a 15 year career in local theater.
Lisa obtained her Master’s Degree in Music Therapy and pursued a career in health care as a corporate director for a creative arts therapy department in long term care facilities while continuing to teach and direct musical theater.
Once having a family, it became difficult to juggle so many hats. It was time for a change. So, she took her “HGTV” love for home renovations and became a real estate agent, allowing for more flexibility while raising their son. She never lost her love of music and teaching, however, and came to spread the joy of music at The Harmony Garden.
Lisa loves watching students of all levels and ages find their own passion for music. She only hopes to maybe influence just one student the way her grandfather had for her so many years ago.
When not selling homes or teaching music, Lisa and her family enjoy taking road trips, hiking with their dog, cooking, crafting and spending free time with loved ones. She feels immensely blessed to be a small part of such an extraordinary music school.
